If you utilize Portrait's EHR to process your customer's payments, you may choose to collect patient credit card info upon registration automatically, which will allow you to have a saved payment method on file for each patient that comes in for treatment. They may also choose to offer an alternative payment method which you may enter manually to the EHR, in which case you would be charging entirely through the EHR without the need of a POS device.
However, if you will be charging physical credit cards, you will need a POS device to tap, insert or swipe cards. In which case you may submit a ticket to request it (please remember to indicate the mailing address to receive the device), the Portrait team will charge you $249 for the BBPOS WisePOS™ E Stripe Terminal (plus $15 standard shipping fee) and will have it shipped to you once you've accessed the invoice that you will receive in your email inbox to pay.
Once you receive your Stripe payment terminal, you will be required to link it to the EHR:
- You will need a code that can be extracted by swiping from the left on the Stripe terminal > Tap Device Settings > Enter the Admin PIN which is 07139 for all BBPOS WisePOS™ E Terminals > Connect to the same WiFi network as your iPad > Then tap Generate Pairing Code
- Access the EHR Admin Dashboard > Go to Scheduling > Locations.
- Click "Register Stripe Reader" next to your location.
- Enter the registration/pairing code.
