IMPORTANT NOTE for Legacy: CareCredit Restrictions and Conditions
This payment method cannot be used when
a) Checkout is being processed ONLY for pre-paid services (any amount).
b) There's discounts being applied to an amount under $750.
- Portrait does accept CareCredit transactions below $750, Portrait does not have a minimum requirement for CareCredit transactions to be used.
However, transactions under $750 cannot be combined with any promotions or discounts. Promotions or discounts CANNOT be applied to transactions under $750.
CareCredit Transaction Steps:
Step 1: Access Care Credit Provider Center
Ensure that you are signed in to carecreditprovidercenter.com.
Step 2: Navigate to New Transaction
Once logged in, you'll see a welcome message with your username.
Click on "New Transaction."
Initiate a New Transaction
Choose "Purchase" and click "Continue."
Step 3: Patient Information
If the patient doesn't have their card, look them up using their account or provided information.
Enter the patient's card information and continue.
Step 4: Verify Available Credit
On the next screen, review the patient's details, including available credit (e.g., $786).
Step 5: Enter Purchase Amount
Input the purchase amount (e.g., $750) and leave the patient client ID untouched.
Step 6: Select Financing Option
Choose the promotional financing option (e.g., six months) and click "Submit."
Step 7: Confirm Transaction Status
Check the transaction status. If approved, it will say "Transaction Approved." If declined, it will be in red and say "Transaction Declined."
Step 8: Gather Authorization Code *IMPORTANT FOR EHR
Collect the authorization code (e.g. 022164).
Step 9: Update EHR
Access the EHR checkout page.
Enter the authorization code and the transaction amount (e.g. $750).
Step 10: Complete Transaction in EHR
Confirm the payment details, indicating that the patient paid with CareCredit.
Click "Process" to finalize the transaction.
Congratulations! You have now successfully completed a CareCredit transaction.
